About

A warehouse first,
an exporter second.

Jamie Supply is run out of a family beauty-supply wholesaler in Changsha, Hunan. The business sells trolleys, stools, treatment furniture, linen and consumables to Chinese salons and spas — 1,350 active lines, every day, since 2008.

The warehouse

800 m² of our own floor, inside a 2,000 m² family supply complex.

Our own floor is about 800 m². It sits inside a 2,000 m² beauty-supply complex run by the wider family, and we can buy across all of it — which is why the range we can quote is wider than the range we stock ourselves. There is a sample room, and you are welcome to come and open the boxes yourself.

Who you will be dealing with

Jamie Zhang

I spent six years inside this business — purchasing, logistics, customer service, and building its online storefronts. Before that I studied business at Simon Fraser University in Canada and worked as a developer. In 2022 I started and still run a separate self-service venue in Changsha, which has been profitable every year since it paid back its investment.

I mention the last one only because it is the honest version of what I bring: I have run a small business where the numbers had to work, and I know this product category from the buying side rather than the selling side.

You deal with me, but you are not buying from one person. The warehouse is older and larger than my part in it — trading since 2008, with people on the floor who have been buying these lines for longer than I have been selling them abroad.

What I do is make sure that reaches you. I write my own emails. If something goes wrong you hear it from me before you hear it from your freight forwarder. When your goods are packed someone of ours is at the factory, usually me. I am not the person here who knows every fabric weight and every gas-lift class — that is the buyers and counter staff who handle these lines every week. I am the one who goes and asks them, and who is accountable to you for the answer.

English and Mandarin. Changsha is UTC+8 — same working day as Australia and New Zealand, and we answer UK morning email before the UK wakes up.

If you already import from China

We are not trying to replace
your main factory.

If one line makes up most of your volume, buy it direct — we will tell you so. Where we earn our place is the other twenty: the lines too small for a factory to re-engineer, the categories you are testing, the replenishment that does not justify a container of its own.

We put those on one set of documents, under your brand if you want it there, and we make the changes a factory will not make for two hundred pieces — fitted covers cut to your bed, knock-down packing, a carton resized to put thirty per cent more into the same container.

Straight answers

Things you would
otherwise have to ask.

Are you a factory?

No. We are a wholesaler with direct relationships to the factories that supply us — we buy from them for our own floor, which is why they take our calls. Once we are working together we will take you to the factory that makes your line, and you are welcome to audit it.

Are you a trading agent?

We take the order, we invoice you, and we are accountable for what arrives. Call that what you like — the practical difference is that the invoice, the inspection and the claim all sit with the same company.

Why not go direct to the factory?

For a single high-volume line, you probably should, and we will say so. We are worth having when you need several categories in one container, when you need someone to inspect, or when the factory does not speak English.

How new is the export side?

New. The warehouse dates from 2008; exporting from it does not. We would rather you know that than find out later. What is not new is the product knowledge and the factory access — and for early shipments we use an established export agent as exporter of record, so your documents and your refund are not riding on our first year.

Come and see it.

If you are ever sourcing in China, Changsha is a couple of hours from Guangzhou by train. We will meet you at the station and take you to the factories.
